SuperKOTE relies on Bavelloni machines to produce high quality glass in Australia

SuperKOTE, based in Ormeau (QLD), between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, was founded in 2001 as a specialist in coloured glass. Over the years, it has become the leading manufacturer and supplier of painted risers and splashbacks, as well as frameless, tempered and annealed glass used in construction, architecture and design. The company is constantly looking for innovations in terms of design, new technologies and machinery.

All products made within the company are certified by architects, builders and entrepreneurs. In addition to the splash guards, SuperKOTE supplies mirrors, doors, shower enclosures, glass shelves, windows, doors, balustrades and many other glass items to the main high-end producers in the south-east of Queensland and surroundings, for various commercial and residential applications.

Mr. Ross Kennedy, owner and CEO of SuperKOTE, asserts:

“I strongly believe in using state-of-the-art equipment to produce quality glass: Bavelloni machines require minimal maintenance and work incessantly” and adds, “Bavelloni machines represent one of the key elements of my company’s success. I’m really happy that ‘Bavelloni is back’. “

Bavelloni machines: unparalleled performance and finishes

SuperKOTE works up to three 8-hour shifts a day so the systems are constantly in operation.

When Mr. Kennedy needed to replace his Gemy 11, which had profiled 3 million meters in four years, he also reviewed offers from other manufacturers, but no other supplier was able to match Bavelloni in terms of performance and finish. Therefore, his choice fell immediately on the Bavelloni Hiyon 11 straight line.

After almost a year, his Hiyon 11 had already polished approximately 435,000 meters of glass of various thicknesses, from the 4 mm mirror to the 19 mm flat glass and was about to reach 1 million meters.

Mr. Kennedy, realizing the excellent performance of this machine, bought, without hesitation, another Bavelloni straight line, the new VE 350 11 with 11 cup wheels. This machine, installed about a year ago, has already performed many thousands of meters. With an ever-increasing workload and the opening of a second factory in 2018 SuperKote, Invested in a third Bavelloni machine another VE-350-11.

Thanks to a perfect combination of tools, our VE 350 11, the best in terms of flexibility, productivity and finishing level both in the grinding of flat glass and laminated glass, can achieve excellent results with any type of glass and / or mirror , from 3 to 40 mm thick. This straight-line edger can be customized with a wide range of options to meet multiple needs. It can in fact be equipped with higher racks and arms with extensions, with the cerium oxide polishing kit for a brilliant finish; moreover, thanks to the Ecofriendly package and the Grind & Stop function for energy saving, it represents a low environmental impact solution.

In addition to our straight lines (Hiyon 11 and VE 350 11), SuperKOTE also has a Bavelloni ALPA 350 CNC machining centre.

A qualified sales network can really make a difference

To date, we have more than 500 machines installed in Australia and our customers can count, at any time, on the on-site presence of our official partner Glass Machinery Imports (GMI) which, in over 20 years of activity in this field, has matured a great experience in the sector.

“I personally know Mr. Garry Kilkenny of GMI,” says Mr. Kennedy, “GMI distributes Bavelloni machines throughout Australia and has a large assortment of original Bavelloni spare parts in its Ormeau warehouse – which is right behind the corner – thus ensuring prompt intervention in the event of downtime. “
